About Us
We develop IceBrick Cold Thermal Energy Storage (CTES) technology that enables large commercial buildings and data centers to shift cooling loads to off-peak hours by charging our IceBrick arrays and storing cooling in the form of ice. The stored thermal energy is then discharged on demand, reducing cooling demand during peak grid hours and extreme heat events.
Our system can be used to participate in demand response programs or to generate revenue by offering flexible cooling capacity to the grid. Alternatively, it can be deployed internally to optimize site design performance by curtailing cooling loads on the hottest days of the year and defining optimized worst-case scenarios that determine the available megawatts a site can sell. This approach can improve site revenues by approximately 3–6% while reducing operational emissions.
For example, at a site like the Beverly Hilton, a 2000 RT IceBrick installation (equivalent to ~1000 kWh of lithium-ion storage) can reduce emissions by up to 300 metric tons of CO₂ annually
